As a Wifi Computers co-op student I have learned a extraordinary amount ‎ of new little things I can use day to day when working with computer and repairing computers. From finding ways of making computing faster ‎to making sure a computer is being used properly so it stays in top condition. To increasing my knowledge on how to repair basic and rear hardware and software issues, such as broken screens and slow running computer and rear things like graphics chip repair. All of these things tied in amazingly with my schooling as I was taking a duel credit collage course at Sheridan collage at the same time of my placement for computer operating systems. Wifi computers was flexible with my schedule as I had to take certain days off because of collage classes and other in class school events at my home school Castlebrooke. I was also fortunate to get a great job opportunity working part time at wifi on weekends in light of my interest in the field of computer repairs and electronics engineering. I would most defiantly be interested in going into owning a business of my own in the electronics service technician field in the future thanks to the great experience and all I have learned working at Wifi computers.

As a Co-Op student at Wi-Fi Computers, my experience was extremely beneficial and educational. Throughout this time period I was able to learn several techniques, as well as theories in the field of computer technician. Furthermore, I accomplished many tasks during my placement, which lead to further understanding of the techniques. The techniques I learned and practiced were the methods I used my repairing the electronics that were brought to the shop. Some of the methods I learned include soldering wires, soldering capacitors and components on motherboards. Moreover, I learned how to take apart different models of laptops with using different methods for each model. I also learned and repaired several laptops chargers, PC power supplies, and other electronics. I also gained knowledge on software, which includes learning how to clean viruses. I am now aware of several programs that are used to remove viruses, other problems that occur within the electronics. Therefore, the Corporate Education Program gave me an opportunity to have an experience with hand-on work, and practically learn how to manage, repair, and sell electronics. The Corporate Education Program brought a different experience, than the experience I receive in school. Firstly, in school, the education method is mostly theoretical. However, at the Co-Op placement at Wi-Fi computers I was able to gain knowledge theoretically and with hands-on work, which was a benefit. Learning the material while practically working with the equipment is much more educational and understanding than theoretically learning the material. Therefore, I had a great an experience while working at Wi-Fi computers as a Co-Op student, because the time I spent there was very useful and educational.

AWIFI computers is an outstanding co-op placement and it is a great sales and repair store. Every day, there was always something new to do, exposing students to different aspects of running a computer repair business; such as, new software problems, and hardware problems, raising awareness, and marketing amongst the Brampton community. Through going to WIFI Computers, I was not only able to learn valuable computer skills, via hardware and software; but also, I was abkle to exercise my critical thinking skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills. Many of which can be used very well, not only in the workplace, but also, outside of the workplace. As a result, by gaining experience with computer, I hope to work more often with computer repairs, and providing customer service, in my near future.

My co-op experience at Wifi-Computer was very knowledgeable. There are only few words that can explain what I have learned here, but there is so much thought behind them. I'll start off with respect, such a simple feeling yet so different in many ways. Not that I wasn't respectful to begin with It was just that I able to learn a new form of respect for instance, customer service. You have to be very educated of who you're talking to and how you should treat them, in the sense you have to look at things from the customer point of view. Also, I was able to educate myself of an employee mindset. At first I was not able to obtain this because of my lack of effort, but later on with my experience I realized how important it really is to have this mindset. This mindset allows you to see how important it is to actually DO work when AT work. Speaking of work, WiFi-Computers are able to interact with you on a daily basis and walking with you in step by step procedure that prepares you for answers when needed. I would say their main priorities are hardware and software issues. These are two very difficult things to not only do, but teach. With over 20 years of experience Amar and Davinder Sira are exceptionally outstanding because they are able to provide you with the help and support at any given time, while managing their business. The only disadvantage I had was not being able to speak or understand Punjabi, this disclosed me from many customers and some of my learning experience. Regardless, wouldn't want my placement anywhere else because I feel I was able to fulfill my brain with the knowledge it once thirsted. I feel more confident and stronger with myself in everything I do now because of Wifi-Computers. This is because Amar and Davinder are amazing role models that show you a taste of the real world and what is to be expected. In conclusion, I would say Wifi-Computers

Its not only computers we deal with here at WiFi computers phones, gaming consoles, bluerays, etc are some devices you can see being fixed here. Here as a coop student we don't only Learn how to fix devices we also deal with costumers depending on your role for the week. The three main roles are front desk , software lab and hardware lab. Also, you could learn about web designing since the owner Amarbir knows about it. Me, personally I like to work in the software section because its the most hands on part of the job.

Wifi Computers have to be the perfect place for an Electronic Service Technician. I've learnt so far in my few weeks here how to install over 24 important programs, but it all started with learning the basic programs that keeps a computer running. I have learned about Hiren which regenerates the bad sectors of a damaged hardrive, and even some very useful hardware services. At the front which is customer service, I've learned the knowledge of log books and how important it is to keep records in any business. Since lately I've been learning about Graphic Design and Photography as well as designing attractive websites that catches the eye.

What I like about my Co-op placement at Wifi Computers is that the other Co-op students and I get first-hand experience working with computers. Whether it is replacing parts, removing or installing new software, restoring computers back to their factor setting or installing drivers. We also learn sales because we also handle the front of the store where customers give their computers to be fixed or buy new parts and other accessories. We have learned how to replace laptop screens, how to remove parts from laptops and desktops, and have seen how to take apart a laptop completely. Although we haven't done any hardware repair, which is done in the back of the shop, we have seen how it is done giving us some knowledge.
